Ferries From Venice to Patrasso

Patrasso (or Patras) is the third biggest and most important city in Greece. It is located in the northern area of the Peloponnese region, metaphorically turned towards the extreme point of Italy and Ionian Islands. From a urban point of view the city is split in two: High Patrasso, the oldest and most picturesque part of the city, and Low Patrasso, the newest part.

In 2006 Patrasso was the European Capital of Culture; Greeks used to consider it the door to the west, especially for trading activities with Italy and the rest of Europe. Nowadays Patrasso is still growing, launched towards the future but very proud of its past. The local University is greatly renowned especially for its science and technology departments. Speaking of technology, it is important to mention the Rio-Antirio Bridge, a futuristic bridge that connects the eastern part of Patrasso – Rio – to the city of Antirio.
